THE TURNING POINT Pt1

Matthew 11:15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ex 14, Luke 17, Job 32, 2 Cor 2

The turning point is the point at which everything changes either for good or bad. It can be the point where a fellow who has been losing suddenly begins to win or a point where the fellow who has been winning suddenly begins to lose. It can be the point where a fellow who has been experiencing stagnancy in all areas of life suddenly begins to enjoy progress or a point where a fellow who has been enjoying progress suddenly begins to experience stagnancy. It can be a point where a fellow who has been invisible all his life suddenly begins to be recognized or a point where a fellow who has been recognized in the family or the community suddenly begins to become invisible. A turning point can also be the point where a fellow who has been winning is suddenly declared a winner or a point where the fellow who has been losing in all areas of life is suddenly declared a looser. In a nut shell a turning point can be a point or a day where everything that has been going wrong suddenly begins to get better and better and before you know it becomes a testimony or a point or a day where everything that has been going well begins to go wrong and get worse and worse, before you know it becomes a memorial of sadness. I pray that every one reading this will never get to that point where everything that has been working suddenly begins to go wrong.

There are three things that mark every turning point. When you search through the scriptures, you will find out that these three things marked the turning point either for good or bad in the life of all bible characters. The first thing that marks an individual’s turning point is what he hears. What you hear is very important. Jesus says in Mark 4:24, take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. What you hear decides if you will be happy or sad. What you hear either motivates you or de-motivates you. Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. This is why Jesus encourages us in Matthew 11:15 that he who has an ear let him hear. Luke 5:1-7 gives an account of a turning point in the life of Peter. It is a story we all know anyway, Peter fished all night and caught nothing. Jesus came to the scene and asked him to launch into deep for a catch. He cast his net and caught so much fish that two boats began to sink. What marked Peter’s turning point was what he heard. He heard Jesus say launch into the deep because right in the deep lies his breakthrough. If he had not heard that statement, he would have gone back home the way he came. In Genesis 26:12-13, Isaac sowed and reaped hundred fold the same year. Not only that, he became very prosperous. All these came as a result of what he heard in Genesis 26:2. The question is how do I activate a turning point in my life? Well begin to hear the word of God. Hear sermons, buy books, listen to sermon on YouTube, read your bible more e.t.c. I can assure you if you would do these you will testify.

KEYWORD: A turning point starts with what you hear.
